This painting too is derived from a photograph, it was taken by the American photographer Alex Webb in the year 1989. It comes from a report about the people who gather annually at the waterfalls "Saut d'Eau" in Haiti for a three-day pilgrimage where both christian and voodoo "followers" come seeking and to pray for healing and some luck! I made it intended as a kind of symbolic image of man who is (still) in contact with the rest of nature & the elements. But also because I find it a beautiful and intriguing photograph.
